It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria M. Trujillo, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in Pearsall, Texas. She was born on September 28, 1927, to Juan and Ignacia Mauricio, in Devine, Texas.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents; husband Patricio V. Trujillo; sons Jesus Trujillo, Juan Richard Trujillo, Jose Angel Trujillo; daughters Elizabeth Ortiz and Irene Cruz; grandson Antonio Ortiz, Jr.; grand-daughters Mary Beth Trujillo, Adele Trujillo, Julia Ann Garza, and Nicole Trujillo.
She is survived by her children Adan Trujillo, Raul Trujillo, Anna Howfield, Dora Cubriel, Rachel Carrizales, and granddaughter Cynthia Garcia, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Maria was the heart of her home, the steady hands, the warm meals, and the laughter that echoed through every room. A devoted stay-at-home mom, she took immense pride in caring for her family, creating a home filled with delicious food, sparkling clean counters, and a whole lot of love. She didn't just cook meals-she cooked memories. Every bite came with a side of comfort, and every recipe had a sprinkle of her signature sass.
Whether it was her children, grandchildren, or a new friend she met in passing, Maria had a gift for making people feel seen, safe, and special.
Witty, wise, and wonderfully kind, she had a way with words and a sense of humor that could light up any room. She loved fully, laughed often, and always had a one-liner ready that would catch you off guard and make you burst out laughing. Her spirit was sharp, her hugs were healing, and her presence was pure comfort. Maria was strong. Quietly, humbly, fiercely strong. She carried generations on her shoulders without ever complaining, met life's challenges head-on, and gave all of herself to those she loved. Her strength wasn't loud, it was in the way she held her family together, the way she got up every day and did the work no one saw, the way she loved without condition. And through it all, she kept her wit sharp and her spirit gentle. One of the greatest was her unwavering love for Jehovah. Her faith was her foundation, and she lived it every day with grace, with humility, and with strength. She trusted in Jehovah through every season of life and found joy in serving Him. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who were lucky enough to know her.
