Marianne Paris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Higgins Home for Funerals, Inc. on Feb. 21, 2026.
Marianne C. Paris, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, New Jersey.

Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, Marianne was raised in North Plainfield before returning to Plainfield. She later moved to Bound Brook, New Jersey, where she remained a resident for 49 years. A proud graduate of North Plainfield High School, she entered the workforce shortly after graduation, beginning her career with Allstate Insurance Company in Murray Hill.

In the years that followed, Marianne devoted herself to creating a warm and loving home. She embraced her role as a homemaker with pride and dedication. Later, she returned to the workforce as a sales clerk at Stearns Department Store in the Bridgewater Commons Mall, where she enjoyed meeting people and assisting customers with her friendly and approachable manner.

Raised in the Catholic faith, Marianne attended Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield when she was able, and her faith remained a quiet part of her life.

Marianne had a love for travel and especially cherished the time spent with her beloved husband at their home in Miami Beach, Florida. Those years together created memories that she treasured deeply.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph J. Paris, Jr., who passed away in 2025.

Marianne is survived by her brother, Paul Ford and his wife Patty; her brother, Albert Ford Jr.; and her sister-in-law, Suzette Faig and her husband Paul. Marianne lived life on her own terms and will be remembered by her family and those who shared in her journey.

My dearest Marianne it's so very hard for me to deal with you not being here with us. Your laughter though is still and will always be with me. As I move about my surrounding, I keep running into you. You knew how much I loved glass bottles and cocktail glasses. They are everywhere. Right now, in your memory I am having a Guinness my Irish friend and instead of drinking out of the can I have poured it into the beautiful green glass you gave me one Saint Patrick's Day. By the way, today is March 17th., so cheers to you girl.

I was just drying some dishes and realized the dish towel reads ... "Crazy Cat Lady." It's a set that you gave me a few years ago. The statement is true, as I now have 5 felines vying for my attention.

We have known each other since Sister Mary Madonna's kindergarten class (1955) at St. Josephs in North Plainfield. The only other person I have had in my life as long as you, is Zanne. We were an interesting little trio.

I will miss you always. The parties at 108, the trips to NYC, the lunches at the Homestead where we brought our own refreshments. All of that is etched into my heart and mind.

You and I shared our faith, so I know where you are. We will meet again and things will be better there than here. Love you always. Susan

What can I say? I've known you since my birth. You were my longest lasting friend, until near the end. You wanted to be secluded. That was not really you. You were a lovely vibrant spirit in so many places: running in the rain in Nantucket, another time there standing near the daffodils. Our great hotel in San Francisco sharing a small earthquake, "The Birds" House in Bodega Bay, and all our little children's adventures & being dressed up for Easter. I love you for who you were and now you're gone. I'll miss you forever.

Marianne I will miss you everyday. Remembering many trips to NY, working with you and Joe at Allstate in Murray Hill. Parties at Suzannes and many other adventures. Your laugh and smile. I think about you often and I'll never forget you . Love you Sandy Koflanovich Jantz.
