Marie A. Florio, 90, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 10, 2025. Born on June 22, 1935 in New York City, Marie lived the majority of her life in her familial home in Annadale amongst extended family.
Marie worked for Western Electric at 222 Broadway in NYC and then for AT&T in Somerset NJ until her retirement in the mid 90s. Marie engaged in many creative endeavors throughout her life including sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafting, cooking, baking, and performing home improvement projects. She was an avid NY Yankees fan and favored the music of Engelbert Humperdinck.
A daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend, Marie will always be remembered for her abundantly caring nature. She was forever there for everyone she knew, never taking but always giving, never looking for anything in return. She was like a second mother to her sister Angie's children and to her great niece, Tiana. She was loved by all whose lives she touched.
Marie is survived by her sister Angela, niece Teresa Edelglass & husband Scott, nephew Robert Zerilli & wife Amy, nephew Charles Zerilli, great niece Tiana Zerilli, & sister-in-law Marion Florio and family.
Viewing at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals at 28 Eltingville Blvd, Monday, July 14 from 2PM- 4PM, & 7PM-9PM. Burial to take place at Moravian Cemetery on Tuesday, July 15 following an11AM mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea church at 5411 Amboy Road.
