Marie Groover Muckerson peacefully transitioned from this life on June 18,2025, surrounded by those who loved her deeply. She was born on December 30, 1946, to Virginia Groover-Banner and Jessie Groover. She was lovingly raised in Millen, GA, by her mother, Virginia and her stepfather, Verdie Lee Banner, both of whom preceded her in death.
Marie Muckerson was formerly married to Henry L. Muckerson and lived in the city of Benton Harbor, Michigan. She leaves behind two daughters. Regina Groover Cody and Sophia Muckerson, who she cherished with all her heart.
Marie loved a life marked by joy, resilience, and compassion. With a personality that could light up any room, she was known for her laughter, storytelling, and ability to make anyone feel welcomed and loved. Her warn spirit drew people to her, and she formed lifelong bonds with friends, neighbors, and colleagues alike.
Marie's love for her family was unwavering. She took great pride in her children and left them with a lifetime of memories and laughter.
Mourning her passing while celebrating her life are her children, Sophia Muckerson (Partner, William Smith), Regina and Kelvin Cody, her former husband, Henry L. Muckerson; her devoted siblings Sharon Groover and Judson Groover and Judson Groover; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, members, and dear friends.
