Marie Elizabeth Calvert Seroka, 93, passed away on July 6, 2025. She was born on Sept. 1, 1931 to Mary Jane Halligan Calvert and William Barr Calvert in Toronto, Canada. She was an airline stewardess with American Airlines before marrying Joseph S. Seroka and raising a family in Mamaroneck, New York. She was a wonderful wife and mother and enjoyed making a home for her husband and three children. She had many friends. She loved music and dancing. Marie retired to the South and resided in Daphne, Alabama and then in Pensacola, Florida.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Joe, and brothers, Leslie and Lewis Calvert.
Survivors include her three children, Paul Seroka, Nancy Seroka (Bruce Colbert) and Peter Seroka (Pamela); grandsons, Austin Seroka (Miranda Riley) and Adam Seroka; family of brother, Leslie in Toronto: sister-in law, Shirley Calvert; and nephew and niece Brian and Susan Calvert, and family of brother Lewis in Canada: nephew Craig Calvert (Evelyn Surrey) niece Colleen Castino (Dino); niece, Kimberley Marie Calvert; niece, Nicole Calvert (Jeff Adams); and their children. Seroka extended family: nephew, Ken Seroka (Nancy); in Virginia and their children, grandchildren and niece, Linda Clark (Mike); in Tennessee and their children and grandchildren. Beloved longtime friends.
Memorial Stone will be at the family plot at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, NY, joining husband, Joe; and daughter-in-law, Nadine Brewer Seroka.
In lieu of a formal funeral service the family ask that you honor Marie with your own Celebration of Life and tell stories of the good days and times you had together.
"Even in the darkest days since we've been apart, memories of the times we shared help to warm our hearts. Every day we miss the smile that no one can replace, but still it brings us comfort in the sadness that we face. Life is full of mysteries that no one can explain, but we know some day, somewhere we will meet again. Until we do we'll find the strength to live through each new day, grateful for the happy years before you went away"
