Marie Walker Obituary

Marie was born on February 13, 1934, in the Bronx-NY and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary Oropallo.
Marie attended High School at the Walton High School in the Bronx. Marie married her sweetheart Garth in 1955 at the Saint Phillip Niri Catholic Church in the Bronx. Around 1957 Both Marie and Garth moved back to upstate NY from North Carolina to begin a new future.
Survivors include 3 sons, Gregory-Athens, NY, Thomas (Elena) and their daughter Sarah, Peekskill, NY
Joseph (Irene) and their children Nick and Jessica of Myrtle Beach, SC.
one brother Clement who lives in Long Island, NY. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews.
During Marie's lifetime she thoroughly enjoyed volunteering her time to her local community and served in many organizations such as; Athens Senior Center and the Athens Thrift Shop. Marie was a member of the Athens Volunteer Fire Department-Ladies Auxiliary and also the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Marie loved all people and was known for her kindness. Marie had a great love for all things nature and especially loved all the critters and deer that frequented her yard. She loved her family beyond words.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Marie's Life celebration at W. C. Brady's Funeral Home, 97 mansion Street, Coxsackie, NY, on Monday, March 03, 2025, from 4-7.
A prayer service will be held at 6:30 at the Funeral Home.
Entombment will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorn, NY at 11am, Tuesday March 4th, 2025.

Will miss my beloved friend! Her wisdom was awesome. Her generosity will always be visible in my home. Just know that she is again happily with Mr Walker and her much loved family.
