On a warm summer evening, Friday, June 27, 2025, Marilyn M. Jordan peacefully passed away at her home in Mount Clemens, surrounded by the comfort and love she so generously gave throughout her life.
Born to Clarence C. and Leona M. (Erdman) Schmidt, Marilyn was one of five siblings and was deeply rooted in her faith and family. On May 4, 1957, she married Frederick A. Jordan, at the altar of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Clemens-the very altar where she had been baptized as an infant and confirmed as a young woman. Together, Fred and Marilyn shared 68 wonderful years of marriage, marked by unwavering devotion and companionship.
A lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Marilyn was actively involved in its community, including the Women's Bowling League, where she cherished friendships and fellowship. Her loyalty to family was evident in the special bond she shared with her siblings, especially during their joyful trips to Soaring Eagle Casino and cherished getaways to Las Vegas.
Marilyn lived a life of quiet strength and selfless love. Her greatest joy came from caring for others-always putting the needs of her husband, daughters, and siblings ahead of her own.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Fred; her daughters, Linda Mowatt and Cheryl Jordan; her brother, Melvin (Barbara) Schmidt; nieces Vickie (Pete) Asaro and Julie (Mike) Russ; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a cherished "bonus son," Randy Heistand. Also surviving are her faithful "grand doggies," Cricket and Diesel, who brought her comfort and joy.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Leonard, Nancy, and Dolores Schmidt.
Visitation will take place on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mount Clemens, Michigan.
On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, once again she will be brought to the altar of Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper, Clinton Township, Michigan for funeral services. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Ben Burge. Marilyn will be laid to rest at Cadillac Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Clinton Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
