Marilyn Louise (Kranz) Kutschara was born September 29th 1937. She was born at her Grandmother’s home North of Oconto, NE to Fred and Velma (Owen) Kranz. After high school she came to Hay Springs to babysit her younger cousins, Terry and Cindy Owen. Here she met Hyle Kutschara and they were married June 23, 1957. To this marriage were born two sons, Chuck and Carl. Marilyn was a farm wife and mother. She raised a large garden and raised their boys Northeast of Hay Springs. When her boys were grown, Marilyn started the Good Neighbor Center in Hay Springs along with other volunteers from the community. This was her passion for many years.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Velma Kranz. Husband, Hyle, Sisters in Law, Margaret Kranz and Deloris Kranz, Sister in Law, Mary Lou Kutschara and Son, Carl Kutschara.
She is Survived by: Son, Chuck (Alice) Kutschara. Daughter in law, Shauna Hoke. Grandchildren: Jared (Selena)Kutschara, Jonathan (Mandi) Kutschara, Jesse (Ryan) Child, Scout and Aran Kutschara plus 7 great grandchildren, also by brothers Dwain Kranz and Wain (Marelda) Kranz.
Marilyn passed away on July 31, 2025 at Pioneer Manor Nursing in Hay Springs, NE. at 87 years old.
Burial will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 AT 10:00 AM at the Hay Springs Cemetery in Hay Springs, NE.
Memorial Services for Marilyn will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 AT 11:00 AM at Chadron Seventh-day Adventist Church. A lunch will be provided at the church after the service to provide a time to visit with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the memorial that has been established for the Hay Springs Fire Dept. & Ambulance or Sharing and Caring Neighbors (Good Neighbor Center).
Donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. BOX 970, CHADRON, NE 69337.
