A graveside service for Marion Edward Stewart, 85 of Vidalia, LA will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at 2PM on Thursday, June 5, 2025 with Rev. Donnie Dodge officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Marion Edward Stewart was born on Wednesday, January 24, 1940 in Natchez, MS. and passed away Monday, June 2, 2025 in Ferriday, LA. He was a resident of Vidalia, a member of First Assemble of God. Marion was a man of simple pleasures and a heart full of love. He enjoyed hunting and could often be found tinkering away in his shop, fixing, building, or just passing the time with his hands. Marion had a deep bond with his beloved dogs and cared for animals of all shapes and sizes throughout his life. His smothered fried potatoes were a family favorite, and his cooking always brought people together. Above all, Marion loved his family and the Lord, and that love will be forever cherished and remembered.
He was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Clara Mae Stewart, sisters, Ola Mae Johnson, and Meta Corley, and brother, Richard "R.L." Stewart.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife of 39 wonderful years, Betty Stewart of Vidalia, LA; son, Aaron Stewart of Columbia, LA, daughter, Molly Maples (Bobby) of Vidalia, LA, son, Marion Lee Stewart (Melody) of Fort Worth, TX, daughter, Rita Renee Tedder of Natchez, MS; 14 grandchildren, Casey Stewart, Patrick Stewart (Madeline), Hannah Stewart, Matthew Stewart, Ryan Maples, Robin Maples, Zachary Stewart, Karlee Stewart, Amanda Martinez, Adam Cano, Jason Cano, Joshua Cano, Aiden Cano, Marcus Doss, Sara Porter and Codie Rayborn, numerous great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Those honoring Marion as pallbearers are Ryan Maples, Zachary Stewart, Mike Porter, Corey Rayborn, Drew Porter, and Curtis Curry
