Marion J. (Goodwin) Tredway, 87, devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away Sunday July 7, 2025, following a period of declining health.
Marion was born March 7, 1938 in Roxboro, NC and grew up in Pollocksville, NC alongside her siblings. She later moved to Vero Beach, FL where she was a telephone operator and where she met the love of her life, Bill Tredway to whom she was married for 62 years. She and Bill enjoyed bowling as their favorite past time and were on many bowling leagues throughout the years. Marion was a loving mother to her only son, Ed Tredway and enjoyed cheering him on whether he was playing football, baseball, bowling, or just living life. She was also a proud grandmother to her only grandson, Colin Tredway. Being with family was Marion's "happy place", to her, there was nothing more important, if there was a good card game with them, even better. Bill and Marion spent the last several years enjoying retirement in Micco, FL until last year when they moved to Cumming, GA to be closer to family.
Preceding her in death are her loving husband Bill, her adoring son, Ed, her beloved parents and siblings; father, Kemp Preston Goodwin, Sr., mother Nellie Hearn Goodwin, brothers Gene, Jack, Reed, Ike, and Pete, and sister Margaret. Surviving is her grandson, Colin Tredway, daughter-in-law, Jody Tredway as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral at this time. The family will have Marion and Bill interred together in Pollocksville, NC at a future date.
