Elizabeth A. Roberts, 58, of Escanaba, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at the Altrusa House in Green Bay while tending to her husband, Mark A. Roberts, 59, who had been hospitalized following an aneurysm. He passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital.
Elizabeth Ann Krause was born on October 5, 1966 in Escanaba, daughter of Marvin John and Sharon Lynn (Lewis) Krause Sr. She was raised in Escanaba and attended Escanaba High School, graduating in 1985. Elizabeth then attended Bay College and earned her associate's degree in 1987.
Mark Anthony Roberts was born on June 16, 1966 in Niles, MI, son of Raymond William and Helen Joyce (Goldberg) Roberts. He was also raised in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School, class of 1985.
They married on October 10, 1992 at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba. They had one son, Nicholas, and were able to spend over 30 years together before their passing.
Elizabeth worked for the Escanaba Public Schools and spent over 20 years with the schools. She had several positions within the school system but she loved her job as a cook's helper. She always knew which little ones needed an extra helping to make sure they went home with full bellies. Elizabeth loved working on crossword puzzles and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers.
Mark worked as a custodian for Bay College for over 25 years and was only six months away from his retirement before he passed. He enjoyed riding his snowmobile and four-wheeler, watching Nascar, and grilling out for his family. Mark was an avid Detroit Lions fan.
Elizabeth had gotten Mark hooked on the thrill of scratch off tickets, which they both enjoyed. Spending weekends at the Krause family camp were times they both cherished.
Together they leave behind their son, Nicholas of Escanaba; Elizabeth's father, Marvin Krause; Elizabeth's siblings, Kim (Mick) Boutilier of Escanaba and Marv (Diane) Krause of Battle Creek; Mark's sister, Renelle Beauchamp of Escanaba; and their nieces and nephews, Nicky Corbett, Sarah (Colby) Torvinen, Shawn Beauchamp, Nolan Krause, Anna Boutilier, Brian Boutilier, and Levi (Maddie) McCarty; along with several cousins.
They were preceded in death by Elizabeth's mother, Sharon Krause; Mark's parents, Raymond and Helen "Joy" Roberts; Mark's brother, Steve Corbett; Elizabeth's grandparents, Lloyd and Anna Lewis and Fred and Bertha Krause; Mark's grandparents, Doris and Roy Goldberg and Ellen and Raymond Roberts; and brother-in-law, Paul Beauchamp.
Visitation will take place on Monday, July 14th from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Homes, 302 S 13th St, Escanaba, MI 49829. The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Paul Doletzky officiating.
