Mark Johns, 64, passed peacefully at home on June 24, 2025. He was born on May 28, 1961 in Somers Point, New Jersey, to Marvin and Florence Johns. Mark began his career in 2010 with the Department of Corrections where he was a correctional officer at Mayo Correctional Institution. Mark was greatly respected and loved by his Mayo C.I. family and will be truly missed. Mark was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mark enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren metal detecting and to the shooting range.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Florence Johns, 1 son, J.R. Johns, 2 daughters C.C. Smith, and Cindy Anderson, and 1 brother, Eddie Johns.
Mark left behind his wife, Mary Johns, 3 sons, Kevin (Annie) Belcher, Matt (Sheena) Smith, and Joey (Christina) Koller, and 5 daughters, Susie (Allen) Hill, Jackie (John) Anderson, Cassie (Nick) Fickert, Jewels (Nick) Edington, and Nikki (Jake) Smith. Mark left behind 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mark also leaves behind 1 sister, Ellen (Howard) Porter.
Mark dearly loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. They will miss their Daddy and Poppop.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:00AM at New Hope Baptist Church in Mayo Fl with Charlie Walker, Randy Waters, Dwight Poole, and Chad Little Officiating. Interment will be held following the services at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery. A visitation Will be held will be held at New Hope Baptist church on Sunday June 29, 2025 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
