Marlene Jane (McDaniel) Strasburger, 73, passed peacefully at White Oaks Memory Care April 27, 2025 with her family by her side. Marlene was born in Lafayette, Indiana August 29, 1951 the daughter of the late Paul and Betty (Sorenson) McDaniel.
Marlene married Howard Strasburger June 10, 1972 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Earl Park. They made their home in Earl Park and in 2005 they added a home on Lake Freeman. Marlene enjoyed spending time entertaining family and friends at the lake house. What she loved most was the amount of time she spent with her kids and grandkids at the lake. The grandchildren were her sunshine. She was their biggest cheerleader in all that they did.
Marlene worked for Purdue University, Ringle Express and Strasburger Trucking. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Rosary Society, Earl Park American Legion Post 455 Auxiliary and a past member of the Earl Park Fall Festival Committee.
Surviving with her husband of 52 years are their children: Bryan(Kila) Strasburger, Orlando, Florida; Kelly(Michael) Minniear, Earl Park; Eric Strasburger, Earl Park; seven grandchildren: Kelsey(Sam), Cassidy(Chase), Kaelin, Madison, Ellie, Alexis, Jacob; two great-grandchildren: Emery and Josephine, brother, Tom McDaniel, Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenny McDaniel and many other special family members.
The family would like to extend their great appreciation to Autumn Trace, White Oaks Memory Care and Guardian Angel hospice for their kindness and care. Mom had great caregivers along her journey but her niece, Bev, was extra special. You will never know how much it truly meant to all of us to have you love and care for her the way you did. We love you.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Life Teen or the Benton County Catholic School Educational Trust (BCCSET).
Visitation will be held May 7, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Earl Park from 10am (EST) until the hour of funeral mass at 12pm with Fr. Sean Aaron officiating. Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Earl Park.
