Marty came to my graduation from Loyola University Chicago in May. His passing saddened me because he played such an influential role in giving me the confidence I needed to succeed in mathematics in high school and college.
He gave me the confidence and the determination that I needed in going about my future studies and life endeavors. I will never forget him for the rest of my life.

Marty was a lovely man. My family first met Marty when my oldest, now 19, was just a toddler. He would greet and seat us at both of the Plainfield restaurants where he was the host. He immediately brought us a plate of fresh fruit to snack on while we waited for our breakfast.
I was delighted when I saw that he also attended OLM. What a blessing to see his smiling face at almost all masses and special events we attended.
God bless you, Marty! Thank you for your smile. May you now rest in eternal
peace.

I had the pleasure to meet Marty in 2020, when during Covid, OLM broadcast mass in the parking lot (and you can get communion). I attended with my elderly mother and after a few weeks, Marty would make sure to save a spot for us in the shade for mass. He will be missed. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let the perpetual light shine upon him. Amen

In loving memory of my dear cousin, Marty. Many adventures at our uncle´s jewelry store downtown on Saturdays in high school. Also filling in as prom dates for each other. Always looking for the best in people in our family. Paulette

Only recently I´ve had the delight of meeting Marty at family gatherings. In small moments and, then, a longer conversation about his work, as a mathematics instructor/mentor, his intelligence and warmth shone through. I was looking forward to more moments. My life is poorer for not having the opportunity. Rest in peace, Marty.

Marty was a dear friend and ally, who was always there to collaborate, offer guidance, lend a helping hand, and devote countless hours supporting various efforts, endeavors, and events at Our Lady of Mercy Church. I will miss his dependable presence, conversations, and friendly banter. Pray you are safely in the arms of Jesus, tending to the flowers in the heavenly realm, Marty. Rest in peace, my friend.
