Martin Rice Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martin (Marty) Lee Rice, who departed this life on March 7, 2025, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, at the age of 62. Born on May 7, 1962, in Sonora, California, Marty lived a life dedicate to his faith, family, a passion for the outdoors, and a heart committed to serving others.
Marty's professional journey concluded with his retirement from Electrolux in 2024. His life beyond work was filled with joy and fulfillment, particularly through his roles as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Family was the cornerstone of Marty's existence, and he found immense joy in spoiling his grandchildren, Madeline, Abbygail, and Zachary. His love for camping and fishing was well-known, as was his enthusiasm for NASCAR, which he followed avidly.
A man of faith, Marty attended Biltmore Church, where he was a valued member of the community. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jonnie Royse Rice, father Marvin Rice and brother Leonard Rice.
Marty leaves behind a devoted family to honor his legacy: his wife of 42 years, Roxana; his sons, Joshua Rice and his wife Jessica of Canton, Georgia, and James Rice of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and his brother, Gregg Rice and his wife Stacy of Grangeville, Idaho.
In remembrance of Marty's life and the love he shared with those around him, a Celebration of Life is planned for Wednesday, March 12th, 1:00pm at Biltmore Church, Hendersonville, North Carolina. Marty's warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and community will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
