Marvin Eugene Strube, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at his home in Whiting, KS. He was born January 19, 1943 in Horton, KS, the son of Martin H. Strube and Mary Helen (Weidman) Strube. Marvin graduated from Powhattan High School in 1961 and Highland Community College in 1963, earning his Associates Degree. He was a lifelong farmer. Marvin loved the land and loved to talk to anyone about farming and the pride he had in farming with his son, Kevin. He knew no stranger. A fun memory Marvin liked to share was when he was a bus driver during his college years. Marvin enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities. He also enjoyed 50's, 60's and classic country music. Marvin and Joyce liked to dance for any occasion. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Netawaka, KS. Marvin was very active in the church and held multiple offices. He was a past board member of the Powhattan School. Marvin married Joyce Elaine Gaul on September 5, 1965 in Wathena, KS. They celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Joyce of the home; two sons, Kevin Strube (Angela) of Horton, KS and Jeffrey Strube (Shawna) of Gilbert, AZ; two sisters, Joyce Thompson (Don) of Conway Springs, KS and Connie Snyder (Ron) of Hiawatha, KS; one brother, Terry Strube (Jeanie) of Horton, KS; five grandchildren, Kasey Strube (Audra), Korby Strube, Katelin Kuhlman (Zach), Morgan Strube and Jake Strube; four great-grandchildren, Hudson, Sierra, Chandler and Bentley and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Netawaka. Burial will follow at the Netawaka Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or The Lutheran Hour c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
