Mary Ann Broderick, 81, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on September 23, 2025. Mary Ann was born on November 23, 1943, to William and Helen Broderick in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She graduated from St. Joseph's University in 1965 with a degree in business administration. She went on to begin a career where she would become a vice president in banking for Third Federal Savings & Loans and specialized in fraud investigations.

A loyal sister, aunt, and friend, she moved to Virginia Beach to be closer to her family in her later years.

Mary Ann was a care giver and constantly gave back to her community as a volunteer at St. Mary Medical Center and The National Shrine of St. John Neumann in Philadelphia. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of the church communities at St. Andrew in Newtown, PA. as well as St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Virginia Beach.

As a native Philadelphian, Mary Ann enjoyed watching her beloved Eagles and Phillies play. She also became a diehard supporter of her brother's alma mater, Villanova's, basketball team.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents William and Helen and her brother Bill Broderick. She is survived by her sister-in-law Patricia Broderick, her nieces, Stacey Richman and Amy Broderick, her nephews, Greg Broderick and Tim Broderick, Greg's wife, Michelle, and children, Erin and Shane, and Stacey's husband, Todd, and son, Theo.

A memorial mass will be held at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Virginia Beach on October 10, 2025 at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mary Ann's memory to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church building fund or the Knights of Columbus Council # 13467.

I worked with Marianne at Third Federal Savings for many years. She was a great coworker and taught me a lot. Kept in touch with her over the years, may she rest in peace.

Mary Ann was a beloved friend of mine at St. andrew church in Newtown. She was a daily mass attendant and we visited together often at her home in Newtown. We telephoned regularly to stay in to h when she moved to Virginia Beach. in the these last few years the visit to her friends were a life line for her. I will miss her presence in my life. She was a faithful and loving friend to many in Newtown PA .

Mary Ann was my first cousin and was about 6 years younger than I. However, over the years we kept in touch from when she lived with her parents on Grays Ave, when she lived with her Mom in Newtown, PA and ever after she moved to Virginia Beach to be closer to her brother Bill/Pat and their family. After she had that bad fall she never really recovered and was not a happy camper in her "postage stamp" apartment. Now I´m sure she is happy in heaven with her beloved family.

We became friends at Third Federal and have been ever since. We kept in touch with texts almost daily and phone calls. When I was not getting responses from her I dreaded the findings of her obituary. She was praying to be united with her parents and brother Bill. Now she is. May God receive you in his open arms dear friend!
