Mary Ann Coleman, 85, of Church Hill, TN, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, in the care of Holston Valley Hospital Hospice. Mary Ann was born in Duffield, VA on October 27, 1939, to the parents of John "Millard" Vaughn and Nora Vaughn. She was the second oldest of six children. She was proceeded in death by her parents, John Millard Vaughn and Nora Ethel Vaughn, along with siblings Bradley Vaughn, Frances Drennen and Robert Vaughn. Survivors include: Husband of almost 66 years – Ira Columbus "Lum" Coleman, Daughter – Debbie Ann Lawson and husband Jeff, Son – Mark Coleman and wife Julie. Grandchildren: Adam (Angie) Robinett, Amanda (Chad) Ball, Josh (Kelly) Robinett, Ethan Coleman and Evan Coleman. Great Grandchildren: Alex Robinett, Brady Robinett, Katie Robinett, Mason Courtney, Addy Courtney, Holden Ball and Harper Robinett. Brother – Johnny (Brenda) Vaughn, Sister – Barbra (Jim) Priddy. Special Friends – Ada Horn, Leroy and Ruth Ellen Wilmoth. Mary Ann was a 1957 graduate of Rye Cove High School, Duffield, VA. She attended East Tennessee State University prior to starting nursing school at Clinch Valley Hospital, Richlands, VA. Mary Ann had a 36-year career as a nurse working at Clinch Valley Hospital and the Clinic at Claypool Hill, VA, working in OB/delivery, orthopedics, and family medicine. She loved the years she served as a nurse in Richlands, VA. Beyond her nursing career, she loved her immediate and wider family dearly, found tremendous joy in looking for the best bargains in clothes and shoes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. If there was a great deal, she would find it! Mary Ann will be missed by her family and friends. A visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home in Church Hill, TN. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will follow the funeral service in procession to Church Hill Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Mary Ann's grandsons and great grandsons. In lieu of flowers it was Mary Ann's wish that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
