A Daughter & Granddaughter’s Tribute to Our Beautiful Mother and Grandmother, Mary Lou Bond Eaves.
On July 30, 2025, our beloved mother and grandmother, Mary Lou Bond Eaves, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was 78 years old and left this world surrounded by love, just as she lived her life.
Mary was born and raised in Lyman, Mississippi, and graduated from Harrison Central High School. She was a woman of strength, heart, and undeniable spark. In 1979, alongside her husband Jesse, she co-founded Biloxi Pawn and Auto—a family business that still thrives today, a testament to their hard work and partnership. It wasn’t just a livelihood; it was a legacy built on determination and love.
Anyone who knew Mary instantly felt her energy. Her laugh was contagious, her smile unforgettable, and her spirit truly one-of-a-kind. She was the life of every party, the person everyone gravitated toward, and the one who made every room brighter just by being in it.
Later in life, she found deep joy in painting. Whether she was working on abstract pieces or delicate portraits, her creativity flourished. Each brushstroke was filled with the same warmth and boldness that defined her life. Her art, like her love for her family, was colorful, expressive, and full of soul.
As her daughter and granddaughter, we were lucky to witness the many layers of her love—strong, playful, supportive, and deeply loyal. She was our safe place, our biggest cheerleader, and our constant light. We will forever hold close the talks we had, the laughter we shared, and the grace with which she faced even the hardest moments.
Mary is survived by her sister, Myrtle Saucier; her daughter, Kim (Mike) Lesso; her granddaughter, Alyssa (Tyson) Ransonet; and her two great-grandchildren, Layla and Ty, who brought her endless joy and pride. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members who adored her.
She is now reunited with her infant daughter, Jody Strickland; her parents, Charlie and Ophelia Bond; her brothers, Billy “Rip” Evans and Charlie Bond; her sister, Melba Bond Barrett; and her loving husband, Jesse Eaves.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the amazing staff at Deaconess Hospice Care. Your compassion and kindness during her final days will never be forgotten.
A service to celebrate Mary’s incredible life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. at Riemann’s Funeral Home 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS. Pall bearers will be: Mike Lesso, Tyson Ransonet, Tim Saucier, Phillip Stegall, Shane Strickland and Doug Sellers. While we are heartbroken, we find peace in knowing that her beautiful spirit lives on in all of us.
In honor of Mary’s vibrant and joyful spirit, the family invites those attending her celebration of life to consider wearing bright, cheerful colors or attire that reminds you of Mary and her fun-loving nature. This is, of course, entirely optional—traditional funeral attire is equally welcomed and respected.
Your presence is what matters most, and we will be deeply honored to have you join us in celebrating a life so full of light and love.
With all our love, Kim & Alyssa
