Mary A Elkins Miller, 86, of Fredericktown, OH, passed away Monday July 14, 2025, at Licking Memorial Hospital, in Newark, OH.
Mary was born May 16th, 1939, in Spencer, WV, to Harley Mayford and Goldie Ellen{Carper} Linger. She married Harry Miller in 2009 who passed away last year.
She enjoyed attending the Centerburg Freewill Baptist Church. She loved gospel music and she wrote several songs she sang in church. She loved cooking and worked as a cook for Kenyon College. She loved baking, especially bread, pies, and different dishes. She enjoyed family dinners and church pot-lucks.
Mary will be deeply missed by her children Steve (Kim) Cottrell and Penny Apted, step-son Mike Miller; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews; sisters Ella Bess and Linda Bess. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her son Donny Elkins, her brothers Gleo (“Gib”), Delmar, Shirl, Bill, Eddie; sisters Roselee and Evelyn.
Friends may call Thursday July 17, 2025 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Arnold Eldridge officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
