In Loving Memory of Mary Ann Godlewski / July 6, 1946 - June 23, 2025
Mary Ann Godlewski, age 78, of Evergreen Park, Illinois passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025. Born on July 6, 1946, in Chicago, Mary Ann was part of a large and loving family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Mike & Stella Cutler and the beloved sister of the late Gerald and Robert Cutler. Mary Ann held a deep love for not only her immediate family, but also for her Aunts, Uncles, and cousins especially her Aunt Mary and Aunt Ann whom she was named after. She was married to the love of her life in 1967, the late Dennis Godlewski, for almost 58 years. She gained more family through marriage including 2 brother-in-laws, the late Paul (Linda) Godlewski and Walter Godlewski and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Butler. They spent many years enjoying time together as family and as friends. Mary Ann and Dennis created a life filled with devotion, laughter, and endless love. Their passion for road trips started on their honeymoon when they drove across the country to California for 2 weeks. From that point on, all they needed was a destination, teamwork, and a good song on the radio.
She is survived by her devoted daughters and son-in-laws, Denise (Harry) Dubiel and Dawn (Matthew) Waksmundski and by her adored grandchildren, Zachary Dubiel, Victoria (Patrick O'Brien) Dubiel and Lauren Waksmundski. Being a part of her children and grandchildren's lives brought her endless joy, and she never missed a moment to celebrate and support them. She was a member of the PTO, a dedicated Girl Scout Leader, and so much more. Always willing to give her children and grandchildren the best life had to offer and always ready to offer sound advice during more challenging times.
Mary Ann worked many's years at the First National Bank of Evergreen Park where she was respected for her kindness, dedication, and strong work ethic. She enjoyed helping people and servicing the community she lived in most of her life.
She was also known for her remarkable creativity with a special talent for crafting beautiful gifts and heartfelt tokens. Mary Ann found joy in making others feel loved and appreciated. Her handmade creations were more than just items - they were extensions of her heart and a reflection of the deep care she had for others. She was also known for her chocolate chip cookies, angel food cake, and prize winning carrot cake. Everyone always wanted to know her secret ingredient, but ultimately it was her love that made it so perfect.
A constant source of strength and compassion, Mary Ann was the heart of her family. She was always there, never once letting anyone down. Her gentle presence, generous spirit, and unwavering love will be missed beyond words.
Her legacy will live on in hearts of those who loved her and through the beautiful family she nurtured so lovingly.
