Mary Frances Hudson Hardee, 84, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Frances, daughter of the late Edward and Carrie Mae Hudson, was born in Pitt County on November 25, 1940. She worked for Carolina Telephone, later Sprint and Century Link, retiring after 34 years. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church, where she attended faithfully as long as she was able. Frances was also a member of the Red Hat club where she made many wonderful memories. She found great joy in spending time with her siblings and helping to plan family reunions. She was a devoted wife and mother and she will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd J. Hardee, Jr.; brother, Edward Earl Hudson and his wife, Shirley; sisters, Susie Helson and her husband, Jim, and Kathy Wiggins.

She is survived by her son, Malcolm Hardee; brother-in-law, Robert Wiggins; a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Western NC and a special family friend, Joshua Cain Wood for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berean Baptist Church, 2549 East 102, Ayden, NC 28513 or to the ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, D.C. 20077-7127.
