Mary Bess Jackson, 77, of Fort Smith; passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Willard Walker Hospice Home, Fayetteville. She was born Sunday, July 27, 1947, at Fort Smith; to Franklin Wayne and Edith Alyne Tankersley Simpson.
Bess spent many years working at the Madison County Assessor's office and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She had a deep appreciation for farm life and enjoyed the simple pleasures of going to horse races and team roping events with her husband, Danny. What brought her the most joy, though, was being present for her grandchildren's activities, especially their sporting events. Bess also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook who took pleasure in preparing meals for others, and she loved her family with all her heart.
Bess was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel "Danny" Ray Jackson; her parents, Franklin Simpson, and Edith and Herbert Smith; three brothers, Ken Simpson, Joe Simpson and Frank Simpson; one sister, Virginia McLoud; and two step-brothers, Kirk Smith and Eugene Smith.
She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Marsha and Todd Easterling, of Springdale; D'ette Bolinger and Dawn Dennis, both of Huntsville. Bess is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brock Easterling, Carson Easterling, Hannah Easterling, Cameron Bolinger, Jackson Warren, Kyler Dennis and Kortney Dennis; nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 9:00 AM, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Brashears Funeral Home. A celebration of life honoring her will begin at 10:00 AM, with Glenn Thomas officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Brock Easterling, Carson Easterling, Cameron Bolinger, Jackson Warren, and Kyler Dennis. Memorial donations in Bess' name may be made to Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E Longview St, Fayetteville, AR 72703. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
