Mrs. Mary F. Jones was born on March 14, 1949, to the parentage of the late Mrs. Carrie Dell Barsh Lancaster and the late stepfather Sylvester Lancaster in Wedowee, Randolph County, Alabama. She confessed Christ at an early age at Stephen Mission United Methodist and later joined Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Wedowee until she moved to Roanoke. She was a steward to all of the community churches. She attended Randolph County Training School. She enjoyed being around her family as well as taking care of families and being caretaker of others. She also loved to serve in church before her health declined. She was a homemaker who attended home as well as fill in for others. After her health declined, she was bed resting and resided at the Roanoke Healthcare who became to be her second home and family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, the late Carrie Dell Barsh Lancaster and her stepfather, the late Sylvester Lancaster; her husbands, the late Fred Jones and the late Bunyan Goodwin, Sr.; two daughters, Rachael Goodwin and Mary Alice Goodwin; one son, Bunyan Goodwin, Jr.; one auntie, Mrs. V. Ray Turner; one granddaughter, Jaquetta Goodwin; one grandson, Javorris Goodwin, aka J.D.; and one sister, Barbara G. Kimble.
On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Mary Frances peacefully transitioned from this walk of life at Tanner East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee, Alabama.
Mary Frances leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories; four granddaughters, Gabrielle Jones, Brittany Goodwin, Kiara Hill, and Kaneisha Hughley; two grandsons, Breyden Williams and Brandon Goodwin; three great-grandchildren, Harmony Foster, Lyric Foster, and Melody Foster; two nieces, Natasha Marble and Kristie Rogers; one nephew, Lion Kimble; one grand-niece, Natalie Turman; three grand-nephews, Dexter Marble, Malcolm Marble, and Joshua Turman; two aunties, Julie Ruth Barsh and Barbie G. Barsh; and a host of cousins, loving relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with burial at Skyview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00-6:00 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
