Mary Jo Griffis Kelley, 85, born on January 25, 1940, in Tifton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Grace Memory Care, in Boise, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Lakeside Assembly of God of Moultrie, 146 Tara Street, Moultrie, Georgia 31768 with Rev. Zach Abell officiating. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens, 1754 US 82 East, Tifton, Ga. 31794. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. before the service in Moultrie at Lakeside Assembly of God.

A devoted phlebotomist for four decades, Mary Jo took great pride in her work and had a passion for serving her community. Her skills and compassion for patients made a lasting impact in the lives of those she encountered.

Mary Jo's journey was marked by resilience and adaptability, especially after the passing of her husband to whom she was married for twenty-eight years, Leslie Powers, in 2002. Following this profound loss, she moved to Moultrie, Georgia, where she became an active member of the Lakeside Assembly of God, ultimately maintaining that connection before relocating to Boise to be closer to her family.

Throughout her life, Mary Jo also cherished her time at the Carpenter Road Church of God during her years in Tifton. She embodied a spirit of dedication and care that extended beyond her professional life into her personal connections.

She is survived by her three children: Kathy Darlene Luke, Nana Kareen Whitley, and Alan Glenn Luke; and her four beloved grandchildren. These family members were a significant part of her life, bringing joy and fulfillment in her later years.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenwood Luke, with whom she shared seventeen years, and her second husband, Leslie Powers, along with her parents, Lester A. Griffis and Lillian M. Cox Griffis, her sister, Mildred Whitley Gregory, and her brother, Flavis (Tate) Griffis.

As we remember Mary Jo Kelley, we celebrate a life dedicated to service, family, and faith. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her and felt her warmth and kindness. She will be deeply missed.
