Cumberland, MD - Mary Frances (Liller) Ayers, 89 of Cumberland, MD passed away on July 26, 2025, at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born April 10, 1936, in Cumberland Md. Mary Frances was the daughter of the late William A.B. Liller and Dovie (Springs) Liller. She was also preceded by her loving husband of 64 years, John Charles Ayers Sr., her sisters: Wilma Mae (Liller) and husband, Austin "Don" Mallow; and Phyllis (Liller) and husband, Dick Sommerville; four brothers: William Jr. and, wife Donna Jean; David, Edgar, and Marvin Allen Liller.

Mary graduated from Fort Hill High School where she played in the band, and was formerly employed at Rosenbaum, Manhattan, Mallow landscaping, and as ticket collector on the original Allegany Central Railroad. Mary found joy in caring for numerous elderly individuals throughout the years with her husband. Mary also enjoyed assisting her cousin, Shelby Gable cook and cater. She was an active member of the Woman's Civic Club of Cumberland for many years. She was a long-time member of First Church of God in Cumberland. Mary and her husband John sang in the Simpson-Ayers Quartet with Sonny and Louise Simpson as well as they sang in the Seekers Quartet with Twain and Judy Lowery while the sons: Kevin and Brad Lowery and John, Jr. sang as well. She enjoyed spending her time watching hummingbirds, as well as spending time with her son, grandchildren and great grandson.

Mary is survived by her son John Charles Ayers, Jr and wife Susan; her grandson Joshua Cameron Ayers and wife, Heather, granddaughter: Samantha Ayers; and her great-grandson Keaton Lewis Ayers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 6: 00P.M.to 8:00P.M.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Mark Lintz officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
