Funeral Service for Mrs. Mary E. Nash, 82, of
Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Cummings and Rev. Keith Badowski will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mary E. Nash, a beacon of warmth and humor, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born on April 2, 1943, in Jamestown, New York to Warren Josiah Lee and Rose Elizabeth Peck Erickson. Mary's life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and family. Known for her loving nature, quick wit, and open-hearted friendliness, she touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
Mary's story began in the spring of 1943, a time of hope and renewal. In her youth, she learned the values of kindness, compassion, strength, and hard work. Mary's laughter and joy grew along with her, and she carried these gifts into every aspect of her life, spreading cheer to everyone she met.
Mary's legacy is carried on through her loving family. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Debbie Cordell of
Alexander City, AL, and Becky (Kevin) Boyd of Opelika, AL; her stepsons, Guy Nash and Charles Leonard Nash; her sisters, Connie Dahlin, Peggy (Larry) Straight, and Judy Kidder; and her brother, George Lee. Mary was a proud grandmother to Patrick (Tiffany Price) Nash, Emma Grace Taylor, great grandmother to Brently Nash, Bryson Nash, Pyper Price, and Lorelei June Nash, and grandmother to many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren from out of state. Mary is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her life was enriched by the joys of their accomplishments and milestones, and she instilled in them the importance of kindness and humor.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, LeRoy Wayne Nash; her father, Warren Lee; mother, Rose Erickson; and stepfather, Robert Erickson; and stepson, Donald LeRoy Nash. Mary's memory will be a guiding star for those she has left behind. Her presence will be felt in the stories shared at family gatherings, the laughter among friends, and the quiet moments when her wisdom is recalled.
Mary's life was a patchwork of joyful moments and tender memories. She had a gift for making every person she met feel like the most important person in the world. Her friendly demeanor and her ability to find humor in the everyday made her a cherished friend and confidante to many.
As we say goodbye to Mary, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on the world. Her spirit, so full of love and mirth, will continue to inspire those who knew her. She demonstrated through her actions how to live a life full of grace, generosity, and laughter.
We honor the extraordinary woman that was Mrs. Mary E. Nash, grateful for the time we had with her and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will be carried in the hearts of her family and friends, a legacy of love that will continue to blossom in the lives she touched.
Mary's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony, as per her wishes. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her husband, other family members, and friends, and they find peace in the knowledge that her love will continue to guide them through the years to come.
