Mary Ann Newton, age 84, of Washington, went to her eternal home in the afternoon hours, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Mary Ann was born on January 7, 1941 in Washington to William R and Mary Helen (Myers) Queen. She married Ronald "Ron" Newton on April 28, 1962.
Mary Ann had worked at the Jay-C Store in the meat department. She loves reading, knitting, and baking for funeral dinners. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and Tri Delta Sorority. She enjoyed volunteering at church working with people doing many tasks that helped the church to be a vibrant spiritual growth for her fellow members.
Those left to cherish the memory of Mary Ann are her husband, Ron Newton; her children, Theresa (Edward) Garza of Valparaiso, Lynn (Bob) Bath of Independence, Missouri. Brian (Kim) Newton of Palm Harbor, Florida, David (Andrea) Newton of Vicksburg. Michigan; grandchildren, Jordan (Emily) Bath, De Soto, Kansas, Abby Garza of Ivin, Utah, Ryan Bath of Kansas City, MO, Lena Newton of Vicksburg, Michigan, and Blake Newton of Vicksburg, Michigan; great grandson, Whitley Bath of De Soto, Kansas; and a sister, Barbara (Bill) Page of Martinsville.
Mary Ann mourned the passing of her parents, Mary Helen and William Queen, and an infant daughter, Toyna Newton.
Visitation will be held from 10 - 11 am on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will be held at a later date.
