Mary Kathryn Perez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend died peacefully at home on June 17, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born on April 29, 1936, in Linton, North Dakota. She joined the Air Force as a Registered Nurse in the A.F.B Nurse Corps, serving most notably in the following Air Force Bases: Carswell, Texas, Thule, Greenland, and Homestead, Florida. She retired as a Captain. In Homestead, she met and married the love of her life, Waldemar Perez. They were married for 59 years.
Mary was a registered nurse for 57 years and worked in all aspects of nursing from the Operating Room to Geriatrics. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and was a voracious reader. Mary was a talented cook, never really following a recipe, magically creating and adjusting with whatever ingredients she had on hand at the time. Her family joked that we should enjoy whatever dish she served because we would never have it the same way again. She loved animals and they took a special liking to her, always becoming their favorite human no matter to whom they may have belonged.
Above all, Mary was devoted to her family, considering her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to be her greatest accomplishments. She is survived by her husband, Waldemar, her children, Marcela, Damian, and Charmian, as well as two grandchildren, Jaride and Nevaeh, and three great grandchildren, Aiden, Liam, and Donald III.
She will be remembered for her calming spirit, infinite patience, infectious smile and laughter, and devotion to God and family.
A rosary will be held at St. Dominic Parish, Denver, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by the funeral mass at 10AM. There will be a private interment at Ft. Logan Cemetery that same afternoon.
The rosary and mass can be live-streamed at this link: https://m.youtube.com/@stdominicdenver/streams
