Mary M. Riblet, 101, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Queen, passed away Tuesday May 20, 2025 at the home. She was born March 31, 1924 in Dunkirk, NY, daughter of the late David and Dorothy (Duncan) Sidey. On September 6, 1949, in Dunkirk, NY she married Donald Burton Riblet and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1976.
Surviving are three daughters, Marcia Weiss and husband Howard of Skokie, IL. Barbara Glaser of Queen and Jane Knisely and husband Palmer of Imler, 8 grandchildren Joseph Weis, Miriam Roffe, Deborah Horowitz, Donald, Timothy, Brian and Michael Glaser and Caleb Knisely, 16 great grandchildren and 2 brothers Thomas and Richard Sidey, both of Pineville, NC. She was preceded in death by a brother James Sidey.
Mary was a 1940 graduate of Dunkirk High School and attended Wheaton College in Illinois for two years before receiving a degree in retailing from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She was employed at the family business. Sidey's Department Store in Dunkirk, NY, and was also a homemaker.
Mary attended the Queen Gospel Hall. She was an avid reader, especially her Bible, and enjoyed spending time with her children and other family members.
Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. funeral service on Friday May 23, 2025 at the Lesie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, with Mr. Robert Harris officiating. Interment at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, Erie, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Claysburg Area Public Library.
