It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Maria (Mary) Rodriguez of Uvalde, Texas, on July 16, 2025.
Mary was born on August 29, 1948, in Knippa, Texas, Mary lived the majority of her life in Uvalde, Texas, where she built a life centered around family. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to those she loved, always putting her family first and cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren: Kassidy, Cassandra, Matthew, Julianna, Isaiah, Dylan, and Leila, and her great-grandchildren: Nico Jr., and Tallen. Her joy came from the simplest things—family gatherings, warm conversations, and the many cherished trips made to be near her grandchildren and taking them shopping for all things, whether they needed them or not.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Santos Rodriguez; her two sons, Jaime Rodriguez along with his wife, Debra, and Javier Rodriguez, along with his wife, Hilda, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters (Frances, Odelia, Ana, Angie), 4 brothers (Chino, Joe, Julian, Vale), and multiple nieces and nephews that adored her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Mary. Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 408 Ft. Clark Rd, Uvalde, TX, 78801, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 10:00am.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 22 ,2025, 1:00pm to 9:00pm with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, 220 S. Getty St, Uvalde, TX., on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jaime Rodriguez, Javier Rodriguez, Matthew Rodriguez, Dylan Rodriguez, Isaiah Rodriguez and Pablo Limones.
Honorary pallbearer will be Tallen Jaime Rodriguez.
