Mary Elizabeth (Krall) Sabyan, age 80, passed away at the Little Falls Care Center on July 2, 2025. She was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd to Louis and Louise (O'Brien) Krall on June 22, 1945.
Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting, completing jigsaw puzzles, playing cards with her family and spending time at the lake. Over the years, she donated hundreds of handmade hats and scarves to organizations in the lakes area and the Twin Cities. She also spent many years in the housekeeping departments of several local resorts and hotels, including Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge and the Country Inn of Deerwood.
Mary is survived by her sister Sharon (Dennis) Nyberg; daughter Sherry (Jeff) Matticks; son Scott (Erin) Sabyan, grandchildren Brady Sabyan, Ally Sabyan and Kyle Matticks, great-granddaughter Shae Sabyan, nephew Brian (Becky) Nyberg, great-niece Hailey Nyberg and special friend Sonny Hellum.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Tom Krall.
Mary lived a private life, and wanted her passing to be the same. To honor her wishes, there will not be a visitation or public funeral service. As she requested, a private family service will be held instead.
Mary was a long-time supporter of diabetes research. Memorial donations to Breakthrough T1D (JDRF) or to your favorite charity in her name are appreciated. No flowers please.
A private family service is being held. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
