Maryann Hoyt Obituary
Born in Newark, Maryann attended St. Casimir's Grammar School, East Side High School, Immaculate Conception High School, Immaculate Conception Junior College, Seton Hall University and Felecian College. She was a school teacher teaching at various schools including St. Matthew's School in Edison and St. Joseph's School in Carteret. She owned and operated Anchor Crafts in Sewaren and also taught crafting to the Carteret Senior Citizens. Maryann was a member of the choir at both st. Anthony of Padua Church and St. Joseph Church as well as a member of the Carteret Seniors and Middlesex Senior Citizens groups.
Maryann was predecased by her husband, Harold Joseph Hoyt; her son, Kenneth Hoyt and her parents, Paul and Jean Kania. Surviving are her son, Harry Hoyt with his wife Neuza; her two sisters, Frances Piszker and Jean Curcio with her husband James along with loving nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Dexter.
Funeral services will begin at 10am on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from GERITY & CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
