CARBONDALE - Mathieu Douglas Pechholt, age 61, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 at his home.
Mathieu was born on July 1, 1963 in Scottsdale, AZ to Gaston Betty (Tillman) Pechholt. Mathieu married Daniel Edwards on August 22, 2013 in Keokuk, IA but have been together since November 2, 1998.
Mathieu is survived by his husband, Daniel Edwards; brother, Gaston Pechholt of Raleigh; sisters, Catherine Pechholt and Agnes Delaney of North Carolina; step-son, Zachary (Megan Lewis) Edwards of Girard; granddaughters, Rhoni Edwards of Pittsfield and Daivany Hogan of Girard; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Deborah) Edwards and Jerry Edwards both of Waterloo; two nieces, Kallie and Ashley; and six nephews, Nathan, Aaron, Mathieu, Parker, Seth and Brandon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.Mathieu touched many hearts and lives from Scottsdale, Long Beach, San Francisco, Marion to Carbondale. Throughout his life he worked as a welder, phlebotomist, lab salesman, home improvement salesman, real estate renovator, rental property manager and medical practice manager. He loved his animals, especially his rabbits and boxers, Hampton, Levi and Atlas.
Celebration of Life Services for Mathieu will be held in the afternoon on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Time and location will be announced soon.
