Matilde Munoz, 101, of Olton, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2025, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton. A rosary will follow at 6:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, in Olton, with Father Alex Ambrose officiating. Interment will follow at Olton Cemetery under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Matilde was born January 5, 1924, in Ojo de San Juan, Durango, Mexico, to Feliciano and Angelita (Gamez) Andrede. She married Manuel Munoz and they moved to Olton in 1963. A devoted homemaker, she was a loving and nurturing mother who poured her heart into her family. Matilde loved tending to her flowers and garden, going to the ranch to see the animals, attending garage and estate sales, dancing, and taking road trips.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons; three daughters; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Armando Munoz and Manuel Munoz, both of Olton; her daughters, Yolanda Velasquez of Denton, Mary Sue Corona of McKinney, and Amparo Garcia of Denton. She was blessed with 30 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
