Matthew A. Rodebaugh, 50, of Benton, Ky. passed away on Sunday June 15, 2025, at the Marshall County Hospital in Benton, Ky.
Memorial visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday June 21, 2025, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 4:00 pm. The burial will be at a later date in the Harmony Cemetery rural Greenup.
Matt was born on June 22, 1974, in Charleston, IL to William "Bill" and Mary Lou (McMillan) Rodebaugh. Survivors include brother Terry Rodebaugh; sisters Penny (Bryan) Chrysler and Gail (Kevin) Hoedebecke; sister in laws Rose and Tina; eight nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews and one great great niece. Matt was preceded in death by his parents and brother James "Rodey" Rodebaugh.
Matt was working at Walmart in Benton for many years. And did odd jobs and landscaping for the Kentucky Dam Village. Matt was an avid outdoors man and loved nature. He enjoyed rod and reel fishing and mushroom hunting. He was Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s biggest fan and might have had a slight addiction to flea markets and auctions. He could never have enough "Junk". Matt could make you laugh just by hearing his own laugh and he did it often. He knew no stranger and will be missed by all who knew him.
