Matt Schloesser, 53, of Akeley, formerly of Le Center, MN, passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2025. His memorial service will be 1:30 pm, Monday, July 14th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org
Matt was born August 20, 1971, to Clarence (Butch) and Kathy (Krenik) Schloesser. He grew up on the family farm in rural Le Center, graduating from Le Center High School in 1990, where he was active in FFA and wrestling.
Matt attended trade school at St. Cloud Technical College and began his career in construction, working as a heavy equipment operator. He was a proud member of the Local 49er Union. He lived many years in the Le Center area, where he enjoyed being outdoors, spending much time fishing and hunting.
He met Kelly (Ouren) Adolphson on a mission trip in Joplin, MO, and they married August 27, 2016. After living several years in Willmar, MN, they moved to Akeley, MN, where Matt continued to work as a heavy equipment operator. Matt was a wonderful cook, and together with Kelly, they enjoyed pontoon and side by side rides, hosting BBQs with family and friends, and traveling with Auntie Donna and Uncle Ed.
Matt is survived by his wife, Kelly, step-children, Kaleigh Hoppe, Alexis (Caleb) Jensen, Dalton Adolphson; grandsons, Dawson, Owen and Parker Jensen. Also surviving are his brothers, Andy (Lu) Schloesser, Tom (Michelle) Schloesser; his niece, Tanya (Matt), and nephews, Joey (Danielle), Alex, and Jack; his great niece, Mabel and great nephew, Sylvester; brother-in-law Scott (Bridgett) Ouren, sister-in-law, Kari (Steve) Sunder and several nieces and nephews in Kelly's family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father in-law, and his brother, Pete Schloesser.
