Matthew Turner Obituary

Matthew L. Turner, 55, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of October 7th at his residence in Sheldon, VT. He was born on February 18, 1970 in St. Albans to Larry Turner Sr. and Nancy (Burleigh) Turner. He grew up in Milton, VT and attended Milton schools, graduating from Milton High School in 1988.
In addition to the deep love he had for his family, Matt was proud of his work as a mechanic and auto-body technician and has operated his own business, Matthew Turner Enterprises, for several years. He could often be found in his shop, working on cars while singing and dancing along with classic rock or country songs flowing through the speakers. Matt had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party whether it was out dancing, roller skating, a family gathering, or just hanging out with friends. He was always there for anyone who needed help or just needed a friend.
He is survived by his daughter, Colleen Turner of Georgia; his mother Nancy Turner of Milton; siblings Laura Bushey and her husband Jim of Franklin, Larry Turner Jr. and his fiancée KarenMarie Peltier of Fairfax, John Turner and his fiancée Rebecca Mead Alger of Milton, and Sam Turner of Milton; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including Judy Turner, and Amy Babcock Tyler and their families. Matt is also survived by his dog, Sprocket, who most days accompanied him at the shop.
He was predeceased by his father, Larry Sr., as well as his paternal grandparents, Charles and Frances Turner; and maternal grandparents, Milfred and Katiebelle Shedrick.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12-5 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Arrowhead Senior Center in Milton. Guests are welcome to come and go as they please during that time. A burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
