Mavis Iline Krogman, 95, of Brookings, SD passed away July 8, 2025 at the United Living Community, Brookings, SD. Funeral Services have been set for 10:00am Friday, July 11, 2025 at First Lutheran Church, Brookings, SD. Visitation will held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Rude's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW George Dokken Post 2118, Brookings, SD in Mavis' name.
Mavis Iline Neu was born on July 8, 1930 in Kingsbury County, South Dakota the daughter of Louie and Bena (Gerjets) Neu.
Mavis received her education in Erwin, SD and was a graduate of the Erwin High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Edward W. Krogman on May 26, 1951 in Erwin, SD. After their marriage they farmed in Kingsbury County for two years before moving to Brookings, SD. From 1974 to 1978, she was employed at the 3M Company and from 1978 until 1984, she was employed at Midtex in Brookings. Edward died on December 18, 1984, in Brookings.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Brookings, the VFW Auxiliary and the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, craft work and she loved quilting, making many quilts that she gave to her grandchildren, she especially enjoyed doing volunteer work. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
Mavis is survived by two sons, Gary Krogman of Oldham, SD and Thomas (Lori) Krogman of Brookings, SD; four daughters, Peggy Ohlenkamp of Rapid City, SD, Debbie (Mike) Kuechenmeister of Brookings, SD; Linda (Tim) Larson of Brookings, SD and Susan Caulfield of Ellensburg, WA; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Lloyd, Martin and Clarence; one sister, Bernice; two sons-in-law, Bernie, Steve; a brother-in-law, Dean Weigold; a grandson, Jeff Kuechenmeister; great grandson, Ruxin Myers and many other beloved family members.
