Maxwell A. Shea, 81, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL.

Max was born on March 30, 1944, the son of Maxwell and Beatrice (Kumpf) Anderson; his biological father, Maxwell Sr., was killed in action during WWII, and he was later adopted by James F. Shea. Max graduated from Spalding High School and graduated from Bradley University and enjoyed watching the Bradley Basketball team. He was a member of Theta Zi and loved watching Northwestern Football. After college, he worked in sales for Omega Moulding.

Max was preceded in death by his biological father Maxwell Anderson, his mother, Beatrice, his adopted father, James Shea, and his sister, Sharon Murray.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Mary Rose Shanks, nephew, Brian (Becky) Murray, of Indianapolis, IN, and niece, Molly (Michael) Petruso, Indianapolis, IN; as well as a great niece, Maisy Petruso, and a great nephew, Logan Murray.

Funeral Mass will be held on September 11, 2025, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 11:30am, with visitation being held one hour prior from 10:30-11:30am. Fr. Willard will officiate. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria, IL.

Contributions in Max's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Society.
