Megan Elaine Grimsley, formerly known as Margaret Elaine Jacobson, passed peacefully at the age of 81, on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Ada, MN, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, care, and unwavering kindness. Born on May 13, 1944, in Helena, Montana, to Eric and Bessie (Harvey) Jacobson, Megan's life was a tapestry of devotion-to her faith, her family, and her calling as a nurse. A proud graduate of nursing college, Megan dedicated her professional life to healthcare, serving with tenderness and skill until her retirement. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her work-she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and stepmother, always ready with a warm smile, a hug, a listening ear.
Megan made her home in Becida, Minnesota, where she filled her days with the simple, rich joys of life: crocheting, canning, cooking, gardening, Bible study, and competitive games of Sequence. Her humble confidence and gentle humor were the welcoming heart of every gathering. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Grimsley; her son, Eric Dent; her daughters, LeiLani Cauthen and Symone Satterfield; her stepdaughter, Heidi Sander, and their families. Each of them carries her memory and the lessons of her quiet strength, humility, and love. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David Jacobson, and her sister Barbara Lewis. Megan will rest in Fern Township Cemetery, but if heaven is anything like her home on Earth, it's surely tidied up, the dogs all bathed, the kitties fed, the shelves all dusted, the dishes done and the garden weeded; something is cooking on the stove and she's about to also take out the laundry she's been washing. She'll be smiling and asking new arrivals how they are doing, then sliding a piece of pie or freshly baked cookie over. Once they leave her care, she'll stand waving until long after they turn a corner and she can't see them anymore. A visitation and funeral service will be held at Lake George Bible Chapel in Lake George, MN, on Tuesday, July 22, at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and a luncheon to follow. Friends and family are invited to come celebrate a life beautifully lived. She loved deeply, laughed often, and served always. She will forever be dearly missed.
