Publish in a newspaper

Melissa Ann Trujillo (Dutchover), 59, entered into eternal rest on August 24, 2025, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by love.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at West Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Carlsbad Cemetery.

Melissa was born on April 21, 1966, in Odessa, Texas, to Fidel Garcia Dutchover and Virginia Gonzales Dutchover.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fidel and Virginia Dutchover, and her husband, Chon J. Trujillo.

She is survived by her children, who were the light of her life: Bryon Trujillo and wife Ashley, and their son Bryon Jr.; Christopher Trujillo and his son Christopher Jr.; and Gabriella Trujillo. She is also survived by her siblings: Albert Dutchover (Tommi), Eric Dutchover (Robby), Lori Lopez (Ernie), and Karen Melendrez (Johnny), and many nieces and nephews.

Melissa will be remembered for her fighting spirit, her humor in the most unexpected moments, and the way she gave her whole heart to those she loved. She had a special talent for making people laugh, for listening when it mattered most, and for showing her family-especially her children and grandchildren-what unconditional love truly looked like.

Melissa's legacy is one of love, strength, and compassion, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
