Meredith Jordan, 87, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society, 808 Zorn Road, Bainbridge, GA 39817. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.bryantfuneralga.com. Meredith was born October 28, 1937, in New York, the daughter of John and Ann Manghiss. She graduated from Palm Beach High School and married William Jordan Jr. in February 1959. Meredith worked at Georgia Palm Beach and regularly attended First Baptist Church. Meredith had a bold spirit and a big heart. She loved playing tennis in her younger years, and later in life, enjoyed spirited games of canasta with her friends. She was a great mother, known for her fairness, humor, and no-nonsense attitude. In her house, when one kid got in trouble, everyone did, including their friends. She spoke her mind and liked things done on her time, and everyone who knew her admired her strength and candor. She is survived by her children, William Jordan, Eddie & Nan Jordan, and Bobby Jordan; her stepbrother, Neil Sommerfeld; and her grandchildren, Chase & Caitlin, Hallie, and Mallorie. In addition to her parents, Meredith was preceded in death by her husband, William Jordan Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Jane Jordan.
