Mervin Gene Wohler, 90, of Milnor, ND, passed away on June 19th, 2025, with his wife and daughter at his side at PAM Rehab in Fargo, ND after a 3-year battle with cancer. He was born to Hans and Edith (Johnson) Wohler on September 19th, 1934, in Milnor. Mervin was baptized into the Lutheran faith when he was 12 years old. He attended Shuman Country School.
He married Karen Lunneborg on January 30th, 1960, at Concordia Church in rural Milnor where he also served on church council. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They made their home on the Wohler family farm where they raised 3 children, farmed, milked cows, raised pigs, chickens, dogs and cats. Mervin was an athlete with many trophies to show. He played baseball on a state championship team, bowled, pitched horseshoe, shot pool, tried his hand at golf and enjoyed baseball and basketball with his kids and grandkids. He loved the comics, word search and watching his grandkids games. Mervin retired from farming followed by retiring from milking cows, but he wasn't ready to sit still. He worked for a farmer/friend for several more years doing field work and being "the best grain cart driver ever".
His greatest joy and loves were his bride, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mervin was able to meet his newest great-grandson on June 18th!
Survived by: wife, Karen; son, Daniel (Sandi) Wohler, Prosper, ND; son, Scott (LeDora) Wohler, Horace, ND; daughter, Jill (Duayne) Baldwin, Geneseo, ND; grandchildren - Caitlin (Cameron Kuehl) Wohler; Madison Wohler; Samantha (Erik) Johnson; Clint Wohler; Lane (Alyssa) Wohler; Hans (Addie) Wohler; Emily Baldwin; Adam (Ashlyn Foertsch) Baldwin; great-grandchildren - Evelyn Wohler, Frederick Wohler; Lewis Wohler; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins – Jerry Wohler and Donna Rolfe.
Preceded in death by: his parents, brother Lowell (Rhoda) Wohler; sisters, Lucille (Arnie) Mund, Geraldine (Alphie) Nogowski; Elaine (Lloyd Johnson/Dale) Ruhn; parents-in-law Edwin and Mary Lunneborg.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by the prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Milnor Lutheran Church in Milnor.
