Micah Love Hill, a towering figure of strength and warmth, took his final bow on June 28, 2025. Born in Columbus, Ohio, on September 11, 1977, to Sylvia Diane Hill and Michael Mack Pead, Micah's life was a symphony of shared laughter, passionate pursuits, and profound love for his family. As the great Maya Angelou once said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Micah, with his larger-than-life personality and contagious energy, embodied this sentiment in every facet of his life.
Standing tall at 6'2", Micah was a revered member
of the Groveport Madison High School Basketball Team, a testament to his athletic prowess. His passion for sports extended beyond the basketball court, finding joy in cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes and
the San Francisco 49ers. Micah's love for games wasn't limited to just sports; he cherished the thrill of a good card game, the strategic intricacies of pool, and the unpredictable charm of a gamble. A man of many talents, Micah was the maestro behind the grill, a handyman under the hood of a car, and a seasoned forklift operator in the warehouse industry.
However, the crowning glory of Micah's life was his son, Micah Love Hill Jr., affectionately known as MJ. He cherished every moment spent with MJ, whether they were swimming, gaming, or simply spending quality time together. Micah is survived by his son MJ, shared with longtime friend and co-parent, Erica Braxton, mother Sylvia Diane Hill, sister Sharonnetta Lawson, brothers William Bell, Jason Gregory, Richard Pead and Chyrome Hampton, aunt KathyAnn Pead, and uncles Thomas Pead and Robert Pead. Micah shared a special bond with his nieces Shamani Bell and Ominique Hill, cousin Shandra Prater and close friend of the family Lanise Tillman. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He has joined his father, Michael Mack Pead, sister, Dyanne Hill, aunt, Dorothy "Pat" Prater and uncles, Charles Pead and Spencer Pead, in eternal rest.
A quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson reads, "It is not the length of life, but the depth." Micah's life, although shorter than we would have wished, was immeasurably deep, filled with love, laughter, and a zest for life that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His final farewell will be on July 19, 2025, at the Evergreen Funeral Cremation and Reception, 1855 E. 17th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. The viewing will begin at 10:00 A.M., followed by the service at 11:00 A.M.
