Michael Haverty Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gramer Funeral Home - Clawson on Jan. 26, 2025.
Michael James Haverty, a devoted family man, dedicated coach, and lover of the great outdoors, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the age of 83. A resident of Warren, Michigan, Mike formerly lived in Troy and Royal Oak, Michigan.
Born on March 15, 1941, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Patrick and Mary Haverty, Mike grew up in Detroit and attended Southwestern High School. He began his career at Hudson's as a stock boy and, through hard work and dedication, retired after 42 years as a manager in the painting department.
Mike had a deep love for the outdoors, spending cherished time hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling. His passion for football led him to coach the Royal Oak Chargers for 10 years, shaping the lives of many young athletes with his leadership and commitment to the game. A proud member of both the Knights of Columbus and the Eagles Club in Royal Oak, Mike found great joy in the camaraderie of his community.
He is survived by his loving sons, Keith (Holly), William, and Tim; his grandchildren, Patrick (Brittany) and Nicholas; and his two great-grandchildren, Harrison and Hudson. He also leaves behind his brother, Patrick (Terri), along with many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the man who gave so much of himself to those he loved.
Mike's legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the impact he made on the lives of so many. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
