Michael J. "Woody" Horn, age 49, of Hillsdale, completed the last chapter in his adventure on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at his home with his wife by his side. He graced the world with his presence on October 19, 1975, in Jackson, to Randy Fry and Penny (Sines) Wingate. He married Shannon (Starr) Osmun on December 24, 2019, and she survives.

Woody graduated from North Adams High School in 1993 and went on to work as a caregiver at The Manor, a bartender, a therapist, and a comedian at the Broad St Tavern, The Pub and Grub, and White Oaks Golf Course. He also worked as a radio DJ for WCSR. He prided himself in his accomplishment of becoming a CNA and working at the Laurel's of Coldwater.

Woody lived his life in a way that you always knew he was there, and his presence was always felt. Woody was not a religious person but found solace in nature. If he wasn't inciting laughter amongst his friends, you could find him kayaking on a river, walking a trail, taking pictures, and telling you "We're almost there!" Camping was his favorite getaway and getting a fire started and playing a game of Yahtzee brought such a smile to his face. Woody had a way with words and enjoyed sharing them with everyone. His wisdom, advice, and his presence made a lasting impression on everyone that crossed his path.

Woody is survived by his wife and love of nearly ten years, Shannon Horn; one daughter, McKenna Horn; two stepdaughters, Shelby Osmun, and Kianna Osmun; his father, Randy (Tammy) Fry; his mother, Penny (Chris) Wingate; four siblings, Kristen Holmes, Derek Horn, Heather Fry, and Ashley Ames; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Woody Horn will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 PM and 5:00-7:00 PM at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Cremation will take place following the services.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County.
