Michael Jay Jennings, 56, of Liberty Hill, Texas, passed away on June 11th, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and sisters, and passed in the comfort of his own home.  Michael was born on December 30th, 1968, in Hurst, Texas to the late Barbara Grogan and Gene Jennings. He grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas with his mother and stepfather, DJ Vick, and his four siblings. On September 23rd, 1995, he married Tanya, and they went on to have 3 beautiful children. They shared a life of love and laughter for 29 years.

Michael spent his life working in telecommunications and was very successful in all he did. Outside of work he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, traveling, NASCAR, football, and spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, and siblings.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Vick; his father Gene Jennings; his stepfather DJ Vick; and a slew of uncles and cousins. Michael is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tanya Jennings; his daughter Taylor VanZandt of Knoxville, Tennessee; his daughter Amanda Goble of Liberty Hill, Texas; his son Michael Jennings and wife Samantha of Fort Stewart, Georgia; his grandchildren Liam, Maddison, Owen, and Malia; his brother Mark Jennings; and his sisters Tammy Allen and husband Larry, twin sister Michelle Hosford and husband Scott, and Carol Wallace and husband Kevin; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Michael Jennings will be held at 10AM on July 8th, 2025, at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home in Lavon, Texas. The family will receive family and friends following the service in the community room at Charles W. Smith for lunch.
