Michael was a loving husband of 32 years to his beautiful wife, Kathy Leavitt.
He was a devoted and loving father to his wonderful daughters, Julianna (Chase), Jessica Grace (Rodolphe), Kayla, and Kassidy. A proud Pa to eight grandchildren: Jayson Michael (Tamra), Gabriella, Jocelyne, Zander, Eilidh Anna Mae, Lainey Raine, Maya Stella Mae, Kaydance Star, and recently becoming a cherished great grandfather to Josoah Michael.
He is also survived by his loving sister, Mary Leavitt (Babe), his mother-in-law, Carolyn J. Herdon, along with many extended family members, incredible friends, and a global circle of incredible musicians whose lives he touched through his music.
Michael graduated from Catholic Central High School. He spent his career building his carpet cleaning business, Pro Carpet, into a local empire. He was a proud fixture at the Downtown Wixom Thursday night concerts, and when he wasn't working or out enjoying live music, he was writing and playing it himself. Mike has been a part of many music projects during his life, including his own personal catalog.
He had a unique gift for finding the perfect SpongeBob SquarePants quote to suit any situation, bringing laughter wherever he went. In his spare time, he enjoyed storm chasing along with his love for history and his heritage. His life was a celebration of love, laughter, and the power of music.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 340 Pontiac Trail Walled Lake (3 Blks. S. of Maple Rd.) Tuesday, July, 29, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Friends may visit Monday 6-9 PM and Tuesday 11 AM until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made in Michael's memory to the Dachshund Haus and Corgi Rescue, an organization close to his heart for bringing him Coco and Peanut, the best dogs he could've asked for.
