Godfrey:
Michael Lee Littleton's life on earth ended in the evening of June 28, 2025, age 78, at Alton Memorial Hospital. His family was alongside as the Good Shepherd gathered Mike in His arms and welcomed him into Heaven.
The son of the late Marvin Esco and Ruth Elizabeth (Milligan) Littleton, Sr., he was born February 3, 1947, in Wood River. Survivors include his sister: Patricia Gilbert of Luray, Virginia; many beloved nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by three brothers: Joe Frank Littleton, Jackie Ray Littleton, Marvin 'Red'Littleton, two sisters: Melba 'Sue' Wilson and Carolyn Joyce Grigsby; one sister-in-law: Helen Littleton; and two brother-in-laws: Carl Wilson and Bill Gilbert.
His life, simply lived, had a profound impact on many people. He is dearly loved and dearly missed and we're so thankful he's experiencing fullness of joy worshipping in the presence of his Savior. He understood Jesus' invitation in Matthew 18:3 and if he could speak to you today he would ask you to consider these in your heart: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
In celebration of his life, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, The Reverand Dr. Michael D. Lawton will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to Beverly Farm Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.
